📈 STOCK UP

🔼  Walk-off Win. The baseball team made a late comeback to win game one of the SEC Tournament against Ole Miss 2-1. The Dawgs were down 1-0 in the bottom of the ninth when Connor Hujsak hit a two run home run. Brooks Auger was on the mound for eight innings and struck out a career-high 13 batters. The men move on to play Texas A&M tonight at 8 p.m. CT.

🔼 Onto Round 2. Doubles duo Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez advance to round two of the NCAA Individual Championships. The two downed the 19th-ranked duo from Harvard. They will take on TCU’s ninth-ranked duo today at 2 p.m. CT.

🔼 Out of the Park. The SEC home run queen will be participating in MLB’s Home Run Derby X this summer. Mia Davidson-Smith will get two minutes and thirty seconds in the box, earning a point for each home run. At Mississippi State, Davidson-Smith shattered the school record for home runs by any MSU baseball or softball player with 92.

🔼 Elite Employee. Women’s basketball head coach Sam Purcell promoted Jimmy Yu to Assistant A.D/Women’s Basketball Operations. Yu has been part of the staff for three seasons. Before the promotion, Yu was the Director of Women’s Basketball Operations. His responsibilities include coordinating and overseeing all operational and administrative aspects within the program, which includes facilitating team, student-athlete and recruiting travel logistics, schedule management and maintaining campus relationships and booster engagement.

🔼 Golden Hour. USA Baseball selected Dakota Johnson as a semifinalist for the 2024 Golden Spikes Award. The award recognizes the top amateur baseball player in the nation. Johnson is the eighth Diamond Dog to be tabbed as a semifinalist and the first since 2021. He led the team with 17 home runs and 61 RBIs. He has the seventh-best batting average in the SEC, hitting a .363.

Best Yet. The Mississippi State soccer team had a remarkable semester in the classroom. They recorded the highest team GPA in program history and the second-highest among all Mississippi State athletic teams this semester.
