🔼 The Game We’ve Been Waiting For. Moments after Mississippi State's 41-20 win over Southern Miss this past weekend, coaches and players had already started to turn the page towards their final regular season matchup.

"You already know what week it is," said defensive end De'Monte Russell.

On Thanksgiving night, MSU will step into Davis Wade Stadium for the 119th contest against archrival, Ole Miss.

The matchup includes over a century's worth of intense battles culminating in yearlong bragging rights—years of blood, sweat and tears have been spilled in meetings every season to gain possession of the prized Golden Egg trophy for the following 365 days.

🔼 Pulling Rank. Following a pair of victories last week—and a 5-0 start—Mississippi State women's basketball re-enters the AP Top 25 poll as the No. 25 team in the country. It marks the first time that the Bulldogs have been ranked in an in-season edition of the poll under head coach Sam Purcell.

In addition, Mississippi men’s basketball also jumped into the No. 25 spot in both the Associated Press and USA Today Top 25 polls after starting their season with Power 5 non-conference wins over Arizona State, Washington State, and Northwestern. Both Arizona State and Northwestern are fellow 2023 NCAA Tournament squads.

State is one of two SEC programs (and one of eight programs nationally!) to have both its men’s and women’s teams in the AP Top 25.

🔼 Best Of The Best. After securing Hall of Fame Tipoff Tournament MVP honors over the weekend—Josh Hubbard has secured SEC Freshman of the Week accolades.

Hubbard amassed 18.0 points, 2.0 assists and 1.0 steals per game during victories over North Alabama, Washington State and fellow 2023 NCAA Tournament squad Northwestern. He has come away with four straight games in double figures and 72 points for the young season, which is the fourth-highest total for a State freshmen through five games and the most since Rickey Brown during the 1976-77 season.

🔼 Two Good. Mississippi State’s Nathaniel Watson and Kyle Ferrie each earned weekly honors from the SEC for their performances against Southern Miss—Watson was named the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week, while Ferrie was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week.

🔥 Nathaniel Watson earned his second SEC Defensive Player of the Week honor after a career performance against Southern Miss, setting a career-high with 21 tackles on Saturday to become the first Bulldog since 2000 to have a 20+ tackle game. It’s also the most tackles any SEC defender has had in a single game since 2017.

🦵 Kyle Ferrie picked up his second SEC Freshman of the Week honor after being perfect in all aspects of the kicking game against Southern Miss. The freshman was a perfect 4-for-4 in field goals and 3-for-3 in PATs—and of his four made field goals, two were from greater than 40 yards, including a 48-yarder for the team's first points of the afternoon.
