🔼 Fresh Prince. Make it eight years in a row, y’all! Mississippi State outfielder Dakota Jordan has been named a second team Freshman All-American by Perfect Game—he’s one of seven SEC freshmen to earn All-American honors by Perfect Game and it marks the eighth straight season a Mississippi State freshman has earned All-American accolades.

This comes just days after he earned the NECBL Player of the Week award for his outstanding play thus far this summer.

Play We’ll Never Forget

The freshman phenom embraced every bit of the drama from Super Bulldog Weekend this past season—driving in two runs to walk off a win over Ole Miss on April 15.

Year At A Glance:

In his first season in Starkville, he finished the year hitting .307, the second-best mark on the team. He had 47 hits (with 20 going for extra bases), 10 home runs, nine doubles, and a triple. He drove in the third-most runs on the team with 40. He made 34 starts in left field, four in center field and three as a designated hitter.

During SEC play this season, he hit .333 and belted eight of his 10 homers and he was the 13th Dawg to earn a spot on the SEC All-Freshman Team.

🔼  Listen Up. When it comes to blocked shots, no one in NCAA men's basketball history has more than Mississippi State's Jarvis Varnado—and on the latest edition of Dear Ol' State with Joel Coleman and Logan Lowery, he joins to look back on his record-breaking Bulldog career and the last decade-plus of his life spent in the NBA and playing overseas.

The Dear Ol' State podcast is part of the HailState+ Podcast Network and can also be found on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
