🔼 Battle Back. Bulldog men’s golf’s Garrett Endicott opened his junior season with a tied-for-third finish at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. As a team, Mississippi State landed in fifth place, shooting a 1-over for the tournament. Endicott fired below-par rounds on all three days of the event and carded 14 birdies this weekend. Meanwhile, in his first tournament as a Bulldog, Ugo Malcor displayed resilience, shooting 3-under on Saturday and finishing below par again on Sunday with a team-high six birdies to finish a 1-over and tied for 25th.
🔼 Late Night Action. Mississippi State football made a furious second-half charge but was unable to complete the comeback as the Bulldogs ultimately fell 30-23 to Arizona State late Saturday night. State, who trailed 30-3 late in the third quarter, scored a trio of late touchdowns to make it a one-possession game thanks to a 268-yard, two-touchdown performance from Blake Shapen. On the defensive side, safety Isaac Smith led the way with 17 tackles for the Bulldogs.
🔼 Oh So Close. Bulldog volleyball fought tooth and nail until the end but were unable to complete the reverse sweep, as they dropped Sunday's matchup to the Fighting Irish 3-2.
🗣️ "We're close. We had some moments with small lapses in judgment. We're growing, we're learning, and I think we're moving in the right direction.” - Julie Darty Dennis, head coach
Rebecca Walk was a rock for the middle of the Bulldogs’ attack, as she hit a team-best .667, the best attacking percentage of any Bulldog this season, and the first to hit over .500 since November 22, 2023. Both setters picked up double-doubles in today's matchup. Erin Kline broke two career-highs collecting 32 assists, and 18 digs, tying her career-high service aces with two.
