🔼 Road Test. In a game highlighted by an offensive explosion, the Bulldogs came up just short in their first road test of the season.
Will Rogers and Tulu Griffin were the story of the night as Rogers passed for a career-high 487 yards and one touchdown, while Griffin hauled in seven receptions for a school-record 256 receiving yards. Woody Marks and Mike Wright punched the ball in for a pair of rushing scores, and kicker Kyle Ferrie was perfect three for three on the night, including his career-long 49-yard kick.
Next up, the Bulldogs will host Alabama in Davis Wade Stadium for an 8:00pm kickoff under the lights.
🔼 Battle in Baton Rouge. In a fast-paced, highly competitive matchup against LSU, Bulldog soccer dropped a game in a 2-1 loss. After a scoreless first half, Ilana Izquierdo blasted a shot from outside the box into the back of the net for the game’s first goal. The Tigers then came back with two goals of their own to snatch away a victory from State.
With the loss, the Bulldogs are now 6-3-2 overall with a lot of season still left to play. Next up, the Dawgs will face off against Tennessee in front of the Maroon and White faithful this Friday night.
🔼 Clean Sweep. The Volleydawgs brought out the broomsticks for their first SEC win of the season at home against Alabama. The team compiled 40 kills on a .243 hitting percentage in the win with Karli Schmidt and Sophie Agee leading the way with double digit kills.
🗣️ "It is electric as ever and gives us this edge when we play at home. It's such a special place to play, and it means so much when we're at home." - Head coach Julie Darty Dennis
🔼 All Four It. After racking up four collective wins from both singles and doubles play, Dusan Milanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez concluded play at the Milwaukee Tennis Classic after a quarterfinals appearance. The pair will return to Starkville to reunite with the team as they get ready for the ITA All-American Championships next weekend in Tulsa, OK.
