🔼 Oh So Sweep. State men’s tennis swept the second day of play at the ITF Fayetteville 15K on Tuesday. The Bulldogs won all three matches at the Billingsley Tennis Center and now have four singles competitors and two doubles teams headed into the main draw of the tournament. After the No. 1 doubles team in the country, Benito Sanchez Martinez and Petar Jovanovic, and Bulldog newcomers Niccolo Baroni and Mario Martinez Serrano won their matches, the two Bulldog tandems will now face off against each other in the quarterfinals on Thursday.
🔼 National Attention. As Bulldog soccer heads into SEC play on Thursday, the Bulldogs have solidified their place among the nation's top teams during the nonconference slate. State checks in at No. 24 in the latest United Soccer Coaches Poll and No. 22 in the TopDrawerSoccer rankings, highlighting the program's continued rise. In addition to their national recognition, the Bulldogs hold a solid No. 33 position in the first RPI rankings of the 2024 season, a testament to their strong early-season performances.
🔼 Starting Off Strong. USA Softball finished its first-round matchup at the WBSC Men’s Softball World Cup 1-0 with a win over Columbia. Bulldog softball assistant coach Zac Shaw drew a bases-loaded walk to produce a run for the Americans, and after all was said and done, finished with an RBI and assist.
