Good morning! Between a Maroon Out planned for State soccer on Friday and the Stripeout for Bulldog football on Saturday, Mississippi State fans better be ready to rep State colors all weekend long.

🎥 THIS IS MISSISSIPPI STATE
This Is Mississippi State. After starting the Zach Arnett era with a 48-7 victory against Southeastern Louisiana, the Mississippi State Bulldogs turned their attention to the Arizona Wildcats. This was the first true test for a State team looking to prove that they are willing to win by any means necessary.

🔼 Mark Your Calendars. As the Diamond Dawgs prepare for baseball season, the team can rest assured in knowing which SEC foes they will face off against.
The Bulldogs will split their conference games with five series at Dudy Noble Field and five on the road. The schedule features an opening series against the defending National Champion LSU Tigers in Starkville, road games in Oxford, MS and Fayetteville, AR, and the season finale at home against Missouri.
🔼 Good Grades. Two of State football’s impact players on both offense and defense received some national recognition for their play from their Week 2 performances.
🏈 Tulu Griffin was given the fifth highest score, an 84.0 grade, from PFF among all Power-Five wide receivers from his five reception, 83 yard, two touchdown performance against Arizona.
🏈 Shawn Preston Jr., one of State’s lockdown safeties, was given the second highest grade from PFF of any Power-Five safety in the country with a 90.2 score.
🔼 In The Books. Bulldog women’s golf’s wrapped up their second tournament of the season with a 10th place finish in the ANNIKA Intercollegiate. Avery Weed was the low woman on the team after finishing even par for the tournament. Julia Lopez Ramirez continued her streak of even-par finishes with her fifth in a row, and Surapa Janthamunee rounded out the top three Bulldogs with a 1-over par tournament.
Next up, State will travel to Fayetteville, AR for The Blessings Intercollegiate on October 3rd.
🔼 Season’s Greeting. First year head coach Chris Hooshyar and Bulldog women’s tennis is gearing up for the fall season.
State will have seven tournaments this fall through the beginning of November, and will start with their season opener at the Debbie Southern Classic today. The Bulldogs will have a variety of ITA and ITF events, as well as State’s John Cade Invitational in Starkville at the end of next month. The fall season will conclude with the ITA National Fall Championships in San Diego, CA on November 1st.

🔼 Week’s Best. State golfer Hunter Logan was named the SEC Co-Golfer of the Week thanks to his 11-under tournament score - tied for the lowest 54-hole score in program history.
Logan came away with his first individual win of his collegiate career at the Visit Knoxville Collegiate. He carded a career-high tying 18 birdies in three rounds, and improved his stroke average to 66.33 so far this season, second in the SEC.
🔼 Home Sweet Home. Bulldog volleyball returns home for their first weekend in Starkville in two weeks to host the Maroon & White Invite. The tournament be the last of State’s non-conference schedule. The Volleydawgs will play this evening against Lipscomb for the second time in program history and then on Saturday against Abilene Christian for the first time ever.
