🔼 Last of the Bunch. Tonight, Bulldog soccer will face off against Abilene Christian in the last nonconference match of the 2024 season. The final chapter of State’s nonconference slate will take place in front of the Maroon and White faithful as the team aims to capture its sixth win. The Bulldogs are undefeated in Starkville so far this season, having scored 12 goals at the MSU Soccer Field.
🔼 Excited For More. After 287 days of not catching a pass in game action, Kelly Akharaiyi snatched his 18-yard catch last Saturday at Arizona State, following an early-season ailment that'd held the talented pass catcher out. It was a long road home for Akharaiyi, but it didn't faze him.
🗣️ "It was just one of those things where you've got to take care of your body, being in the training room and preparing like a pro, but there's no rust. Go out there and make plays. That's what we do over here." - Kelly Akharaiyi
The senior transfer took it easy against Arizona State with his initial Bulldog catch that ignited State's first touchdown drive of the game. It was a small dose of his potential, but it was an important opening step.
📚️ Read more about Akharaiyi’s journey back to the gridiron and what to expect from him for the rest of the season
🔼 Schedule Set. Bulldog softball released its official SEC schedule for the team’s upcoming 2025 season. State will play eight three-game series against league competition including matchups against both SEC newcomers in Texas and Oklahoma, along with reigning SEC Champion Tennessee and Women's College World Series participant Alabama. Following the conclusion of the regular season, the 2025 SEC Tournament will be hosted by Georgia at Jack Turner Stadium in Athens on May 6-10.
