🔼 The Wait Is Nearly Over. State’s stepping onto the football field this Saturday for the first time will admittedly one of the better moments of the fall thus far, and no one other than the Bulldogs are more excited to finally kick the season off.

💪 Get in-depth looks at both the anchoring offensive line and deep defensive line

🔼 Sophomore Success. Bulldog softball legend Mia Davidson-Smith completed her second season of play with Athletes Unlimited and finished 18 points higher on the leaderboard than in her rookie campaign.

The former All-American ranked second in the league in home runs (4), third in RBIs (10) and fourth in slugging percentage (.553). She also reached base in every single game - that’s 15 games in a row! Following the season, she earned her third U.S. Women’s National Team selection as she’s headed to the Pan American Games in Santiago, Chile later this year to help the Americans defend their gold medal.

🔼 Fight To The Finish. Bulldog soccer took to the pitch for their Thursday night game against the University of Iowa, but fell just short of the win after a hard-fought 1-0 loss. The Hawkeyes scored first early in the first half, and after nine shots, five of them on goal, the Bulldogs were unable to find an equalizer. Next up, State takes on the Miami Hurricanes at home in Starkville.

🔼 Dear Ol’ State. With the countdown to kickoff turning from days to hours, Joel and Logan discuss the potential of MSU’s defense. Plus, listen in on interviews with safety Marcus Banks, d-lineman Jaden Crumedy and linebacker Jett Johnson.

🔼 Ranked Dawgs. State men’s basketball will return to The Hump for the 2023-24 season ranked No. 20 in the nation according to Blue Ribbon Magazine. Coach Jans heads into his second year with the team after setting a single-season record for wins by a first year head coach with 21 dubs.

One player in particular though has been getting a lot of love this preseason. Tolu Smith has been named SEC Preseason Player of the Year, First Team All-SEC and Second Team All-American by Blue Ribbon. Last year’s leading scorer for the Bulldogs is ready for the bright lights.

🔼 New Position, No Problem. Fresh off the heels off of a SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week award, it’s safe to say that grad student Lauren Myrick is taking well to her position change this season. Myrick, who has been playing at the outside and right-side hitter for State since the 2020 season, switched over to libero in the offseason.

🗣️ “I think that it’s given me a better view of the court. It’s been really cool to see things from a different perspective.” - Lauren Myrick

Last weekend during the StarkVegas Classic, Myrick totaled 64 digs in three matches and averaged 5.82 digs per set. Her talent and ability in adapting to the new position helped the Bulldogs to an undefeated 3-0 start to the season, and will be looking for more this weekend.
