🔼 Taking The Crown. After establishing a lead on day one of the Mason Rudolph Championship, Bulldog women’s golfer Avery Weed took home the first individual title of her collegiate career. In the final three holes of the day, she picked up three birdies to re-secure first place and eventually earn the tournament title. As a team, the Mississippi State Bulldogs finished seventh at the Mason Rudolph Championship and finished the final round at 2-under par, which made the team’s three-day score 14-under.

🔼 Statement Win. In a marquee top-25 showdown, Bulldog soccer delivered a statement performance, defeating previously unbeaten No. 11 Texas 1-0 under the lights at the MSU Soccer Field. The lone goal came in the 15th minute, when Ally Perry netted her fourth goal of the season, finishing off a well-timed assist from Aitana Martinez-Montoya. Goalkeeper Maddy Anderson made two crucial saves to maintain the lead, while the Bulldog defense, led by veterans Rylie Combs and Alexis Gutierrez, limited Texas to just seven total shots, with only two on target.

🔼 Head to Head Dub. Mississippi State men’s tennis’ Benito Sanchez Martinez claimed the first ITF tournament victory of his career on Sunday, securing the singles championship in straight sets at the Fayetteville 15K in Arkansas. The junior from Potsdam, Germany faced freshman teammate Niccolo Baroni in the finals and came away with a 6-2, 6-2 win, his seventh singles win at the event. Altogether, the MSU quartet accumulated 29 ATP singles points and six ATP doubles points during the tournament.

🔼 Captain America. Bulldog softball assistant coach Zac Shaw and the United States Men's National Team went undefeated to win Group C at the WBSC Men's Softball World Cup this week, punching their ticket to next year's Men's Softball World Cup Final. Shaw, named Team USA captain before the tournament, started every game, rotating between second base and shortstop. He batted .462 and posted a 1.434 OPS, ranking third on Team USA and seventh in the tournament. He reached base in all but one game and drew four walks, tied for fourth in the tournament.

🔼 Down In Davis Wade. Quarterback Blake Shapen recorded 140 yards through the air and accounted for two total touchdowns and three Bulldog running backs rushed for more than 50 yards, however, State ultimately fell 45-28 to Florida in Davis Wade Stadium. On the defensive side of things for the Dawgs, sophomore Isaac Smith continued his outstanding season by recording seven tackles and one forced fumble in the effort.

🔼 A Southern Sweep. Bulldog volleyball took down Southern Miss in three sets to sweep the Golden Eagles and extend the win streak to five matches. Rebecca Walk and Kailin Newsome tallied eight kills, as Walk recorded a career-high .800 hitting percentage on 10 swings. Arianna Beckham, Amina Shackelford and Karli Schmidt combined for 15 kills and 19.5 points.

🗣️ "That's the most consistent we've played this season. It was great for us to finish strong before we head into SEC play. We've grown a lot in our offense. We got our middles involved, and when we get them involved, that helps everybody." - Julie Darty Dennis, head coach
