Dawg Days. It’s Tuesday which means the newest episode of the behind the scenes action from Bulldogs football preseason camp is out. Hear from players like Nathaniel Watson, Woody Marks, Jordan Mosely, and Kwatrivous Johnson as they give their input on how camp has gone thus far.

📈 STOCK UP
🔼 Best of the Defense. State linebacker Nathaniel Watson has yet again been placed on a watch list for one of college football’s top awards. He was named to the Chuck Bednarik Award watch list - an award given to the most outstanding defensive player in the nation. His name is among the 90 total defensive players vying for the honor of receiving the award at the end of the season.
🔼 Going Global. From Starkville to Budapest, MSU will get to see five of its former track and field stars to the 2023 World Athletics Championships in Budapest later this week.
👟 Marco Arop and Navasky Anderson will race in the men’s 800m for Canada and Jamaica respectively. Arop is returning for his third career World Championships after take his first medal last year and Canada’s first since 2007. Anderson has a chance to make history as the first Jamaican to make an appearance in the 800m final should he qualify.
👟 Anderson Peters headlines the javelin event for Grenada, and with a win, would become the first person ever to defend his title in three consecutive years. In fact, he would be just the second three-time champion in world history.
👟 Curtis Thompson will challenge Peters in the javelin coming off his third career win at the U.S. Championship after climbing to the highest world ranking of his career this year.
👟 Marta Pen Freitas, one of the more decorated Portuguese track and field stars as a 10-time national champion, will race in the 1500m to open the event on August 19th.
🔼 Real Recognize Real. State’s captain was honored as one of the DI midfielders to watch this season by the United Soccer Coaches. Macy Hodge enters this season with 50 straight starts dating back to 2020. As one of just 38 midfielders named as ‘players to watch’, we can’t wait to see what she does as the Bulldogs kick off the season in just two days.
