🔼 On Your Marks. Mississippi State's track and field program has sent five men to the 2024 Paris Olympic Games, competing in three events and representing five different nations. The track and field competition begins on Thursday, August 1, but the Bulldogs won't compete until Tuesday, August 6 when the men's javelin gets underway.

Marco Arop (Canada) and Navasky Anderson (Jamaica) make MSU the only school in the nation with two athletes in the men's 800m. State also provides two-thirds of the NCAA representation in the men's javelin with Anderson Peters (Grenada) and Curtis Thompson (USA). Lee Eppie (Botswana) rounds out the athletes in Paris as a member of the 4x400m relay pool. Additionally, head coach Chris Woods will serve as an assistant coach for Canada, guiding Arop.

🔼 History Made. Despite the result, Bulldogs Catalina Perez, Ilana Izquierdo and the rest of Team Columbia will move on to the quarterfinals at the 2024 Paris Olympics. It is the first time in Olympic history that the country will participate in the quarterfinals. The pair of Bulldogs, as well as the rest of the squad, will return to the pitch to play Spain on Saturday at 10 a.m.

🔼 Protect The House. As the defensive coordinator, Mississippi State football’s Coleman Hutzler hasn't been too surprised at the line of questioning he's faced since deciding to put on the Maroon and White earlier this year as reporters and others try to get to know him. Most recently, coaching at Alabama under the legendary Nick Saban, Hutzler has picked up so much along the way that he brings with him into his first year in Starkville and wants to impart to his players.

🗣️ "Aggressive. We want to be aggressive. We want to dictate things as much as we can. We want to be violent in how we play. We want to be opportunistic in creating turnovers and getting the ball back. If we can do that and get the ball back to [quarterback Blake Shapen] and the boys, we've got a great chance of scoring points." - Coleman Hutzler

🔼 Dear Ol’ State. Before the football season starts back up, Joel Coleman and Logan Lowery put a lid on summer basketball action by visiting with three more newcomers to the men's team – R.J. Melendez, Michael Nwoko and Jeremy Foumena.
