🔼 Golden Goal. Playing in their first Olympic Games, Bulldog soccer’s Catalina Perez and Ilana Izquierdo helped Team Columbia to their first-ever Olympic victory. In the first game of the group stage round, Columbia defeated New Zealand 2-0 with Izquierdo making her first start at the Olympics. Colombia now tops Group A and will advance to the knock-out round for the first time in their Olympic history with a win or tie on Wednesday.

🔼 The Dream Is Alive. The former Bulldog’s journey as Mississippi State's first men's tennis Olympian will continue in doubles. Nuno Borges and his Portuguese partner Francisco Cabral battled back to beat the Greek brotherly duo of Petros and Stefanos Tsitipas 3-6, 6-3, 1-0[10] on Sunday at Roland-Garros.

🔼 State to the Show. Baseball season continues on, and with it has come some solid performances from our former Diamond Dawgs:

⚾️ World Series champion Nathaniel Lowe has hit in six of the last seven games for the Texas Rangers and is batting .364 since the MLB All-Star Game.

⚾️ Brent Rooker set a career-high in RBI (70) in a single season. Over the last 15 games, the former Bulldog is hitting .382 with seven homers.

⚾️ All-Star Game starter Jordan Westburg has continued his strong play, hitting .303 at home with seven home runs and 32 RBI.

⚾️ Pitcher Will Bednar (pictured) has struck out 11 batters and has limited opponents to a .176 batting average in July with the Richmond Flying Squirrels, a San Francisco Giants affiliate.
