🔼 Sprint To The Finish. Let’s get caught up on all things NCAA Outdoor Championships, shall we?

🏆 Wednesday

  • Cameron Crump finished on the podium after placing fifth in the long jump with a mark of 7.91 meters. With the finish, Crump earned First Team ALl-American honors for the first time.

  • Peyton Bair competed in the first five of ten events in the Decathlon as just one of three freshman. He earned top-5 finishes in the 100-meter, high jump, and 400-meter race totaling 4,212 points.

  • Remi Rougetet had a championship to remember with a career best throw in the javelin with an attempt of 73.41 meters. For his efforts, he earned Second Team All-American honors.

🇺🇸 Thursday

  • Peyton Bair entered Day 2 of the decathlon, and after a near two-hour rain delay, the competition got underway. He nabbed a pair of top 25 finishes in the discus and javelin, and finished top 20 in the pole vault and 1500-meter race. At the end of the decathlon, Bair finished with 7,646 points and earned himself a Second Team All-American honors in his first championship appearance.

  • Kamaya Debose-Epps competed in both the 100-meter and 200-meter races, and finished in the top 25 in both events. She came away with Honorable Mention All-American honors.

  • Asia Poe came through in the clutch after recording a 5.88 meter jump in the long jump event to earn Honorable All-American honors, joining teammate Debose-Epps.

🔼 Summer Ball. 11 Bulldogs are continuing their baseball play this summer across six different summer leagues around the east coast.

  • Hunter Hines and Ross Highfill will compete in the prestigious Cape Cod Baseball League.

  • SEC All-Freshman team member Dakota Jordan is heading off to play in the New England Collegiate Baseball League as well as attending training camp for USA Baseball’s Collegiate National Team.

  • Teammates Aaron Downs, Will Gibbs, and David Mershon will join Jordan in the New England Collegiate Baseball League.

  • Evan Siary will head to the Perfect Game Collegiate Baseball League for the summer.

  • Nate Chester is going to the Prospect League to team up with former MSU coach Ron Polk.

  • Connor Hujsak will spend his summer playing in the Florida Collegiate Summer League.

  • Freshman Logan Forsythe and Hollis Porter will be joining the Valley League for the summer.

🔼 Got One. In Thursday’s pairings for the 2023 Arnold Cup, State standout Julia Ramirez Lopez and her teammate, Matteo Fernandez de Oliveira out of Arkansas, nabbed a point for the International side in the match play portion of the weekend.

After being down much of the match to their Team USA opponents, Lopez and Oliveira took the lead for good on the 15th hole, and finished the match one up after birdying the 18th hole. After Day 1, Team International has a one point lead over Team USA. Later today, the teams will play as foursomes, and mixed foursomes, to decide a winner in match play. 🤔 BULLDOG TRIVIA

Canada Eh? This former Bulldog baseball player, coined the “Maple Hammer”, was selected to represent Team Canada for the sixth time since 2011. He will compete with the team in the WBSC Americas Pan Am Games Qualifier later this summer.
