🔼  Flight To Catch. Mississippi State track and field’s Curtis Thompson has qualified his way to Paris for the 2024 Summer Olympics! Thompson took first place in the javelin semifinals at the U.S. Olympic Team Trials, and in the final round, beat his previous throw by four meters (83.04m) to punch his ticket to Paris next month.

🔼  Touch of Class. Three Mississippi State men's golfers picked up top-20 finishes over the weekend. Garrett Endicott tied for 12th at the prestigious 62nd Northeast Amateur. Meanwhile, at the Mississippi State Amateur Championship, Drew Wilson tied for fifth, and David Beard placed 17th.

🔼  Welcome to the Fam. Bulldog volleyball added incoming sophomore, Mele Corral-Blagojevich to its roster ahead of the team’s upcoming season. As a true freshman, Corral-Blagojevich played in all but one match at the University of Oklahoma and was one of five players to play in at least 100 sets. She ranked second on the team in service aces (24) and third in digs (173) while posting double-digit digs in seven matches.

🔼  Cue The Music. Former Bulldog men’s tennis standout Giovanni Oradini came away with a trophy over the weekend at the ITF M25 Cattolica. Oradini, the former NCAA singles quarterfinalist and NCAA doubles semifinalist, defeated his opponent in three sets en route to another ITF title.

Dream Come True. It is no surprise to Bulldog Nation that Curtis Thompson is headed to the Olympics to represent the Red, White and Blue in the javelin.

Thompson also won the U.S. title in 2018, 2021 and 2023. The three-time All-American won the NCAA Championship in 2016, becoming the first of three Bulldog javelin winners in four years (2016-19), and finished second in 2019.
