🎥 HAIL STATE PLUS

Oldie But A Goodie. This week, we’re throwing it back to some of our all-time favorite episodes from HailState+’s All-Access series. Today, we’re taking a peek behind the curtain of one of MSU’s most storied athletic programs: baseball.

In this episode of All-Access, go behind the scenes of what it takes to get the Diamond Dawgs ready for a big game from the perspective of the equipment manager.

With HailState+ you get to watch wherever you want to watch. Web, mobile, and (later this year) all major OTT streaming apps like AppleTV, Amazon FireTV, Roku, and Android. We got it all.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Pitch Perfect. The Diamond Dawgs are adding some talent to its staff with pitching coach Justin Parker set to join the team for next season’s run. He joins us from South Carolina where he led their pitchers to average 10.1 strikeouts per nine innings, 20th best in the nation.

🗣️ “Justin is one of the top pitching coaches in the country and is on the rise in the coaching ranks of college baseball.” - Head Coach Chris Lemonis

🏟️ Nine of the last 20 pitchers under Coach Parker’s watch has been drafted in the first 10 rounds.

The Indiana native will look to add some assistance and expertise to the pitching group with over 12 years of coaching experience. Welcome to the Family.

🔼 Summer Starters and Pro Dawgs. From the softball field to the baseball diamond, the Bulldogs have been proving why State excels at the next level. Both summer leaguers and professional athletes are shining with their respective teams, and these right here are just a drop in the bucket.

🏆 Tanner Allen has been doing his thing with the Beloit Sky Carp (a Colorado Rockies affiliate). He picked up the Player of the Game for his squad after tying up the game with a three-run homer.

🧤 Mia Davidson Smith finished Week 1 of AUX play in fifth place on the leaderboard after her team went 3-1. She is among the top three in the league in walks, runs, homers, on-base percentage and OPS.

💥 Fa Leilua, after just one series for WPF’s Oklahoma City Spark, leads the league in OPS. She blasted two homers in only three at-bats, and brought in five runs along with it.

💣 Hunter Hines continues to do in the Cape League what he did all season long for the Bulldogs, hit it out over the fence.

⚡️ Chloe Malau’ulu made her first start for the Spark, and in her first at-bat as a pro, smashed the ball over the wall. She later added a double to finish with two RBIs in OKC’s 7-0 win.

🔼 Big Wins. The Bulldogs’ incoming women’s golf transfer, Chiara Horder, has just become the 120th Women’s Amateur Champion. Horder dominated the final round of match play, defeating her opponent in just 12 holes of golf. Things just got a bit scarier for the rest of the schools out there.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: The AL West

Nathaniel Lowe (Texas Rangers), Hunter Renfroe (Los Angeles Angels), Brent Rooker (Oakland A’s) and J.P. France (Houston Astros) all play within the AL West division and have become important members of each of their teams. Right now Lowe holds the edge over Renfroe, Rooker and France in terms of team standings, but there’s still a lot of baseball left.

Have a great Tuesday, y'all.
