All-Access: Howell Trophy. The Howell Trophy is an award given annually to the best men's college basketball player in the state of Mississippi by the Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame, and this year’s winner was none other than Josh Hubbard.

🔼  Deja Vu. For the second time this offseason, Bulldog women’s golfer Julia Lopez Ramirez was named a First Team All-American, this time by Golfweek. The Bulldog standout picks up her second consecutive First Team All-America honor from the publication and her third all-time honor. The Spaniard has made a name for herself as one of the best collegiate golfers in the country and again put together an impressive campaign, marked by numerous individual and team honors throughout the 2023-24 season.

🔼  Final Piece. Bulldog women’s basketball head coach Sam Purcell finalized his coaching staff ahead of next season with the addition of Victoria Vivians, the program’s next Assistant Coach/Director of Scouting. Currently playing for the WNBA's Seattle Storm, Vivians will join the program in October and her role will span throughout the league's offseason.

🔼  Top Class. A trio of Mississippi State golfers are representing the Bulldogs at The Amateur Championship in Ballyliffin, Ireland. Harrison Davis leads the way for State through round one after shooting 3-over par. Recent signee, Ugo Malcor, finished his first round at 6-over par, and rounding out the group is Josep Serra who shot 10-over par.

In one of the biggest and most prestigious amateur championships in the world, the trio will look to climb into the top 64 today in order to move on to match play on Wednesday.

🔼  Grind Don’t Stop. Bulldog softball outfielder Kiarra Sells will continue to work on her craft this summer, playing for the Texas Ninebands in the Lone Star State Collegiate League. With six teams in the league based across Austin and Georgetown, Texas, Sells could play up to 25 games depending on the team’s playoff performance.
