🔼  More Awards. The accolades keep rolling in for right-handed pitcher Khal Stephen who was named a Team Team ABCA/Rawlings All-American over the weekend. The honor marked the first time since the 2013 season that the Diamond Dawgs have had two pitchers earn two or more All-America honors. Stephen led the Bulldog pitching staff in wins (eight), innings pitched (96.0) and ERA (3.28).

🔼  Coming In Hot. A highly decorated men’s golfer is headed to Starkville to compete for the Bulldogs in his senior season. Dain Richie will don the Maroon and White after coming off a season at Southern Illinois where he was second on the team with a 72.03 stroke average, which ranked fourth in school history. Ritchie closed his junior year at the NCAA West Lafayette Regional where he finished 10th after shooting 3-under — the highest regional finish by a Saluki in program history.

🗣️ “Dain has proved he can play against the very best and that he belongs at the highest level in college golf. He will bring us a wealth of experience as well as leadership to our team and culture." - Dusty Smith, head coach

🔼  Overseas Signing. Bulldog men's tennis picked up the second member of its 2024 signing class with the addition of Niccoló Baroni. Baroni will head to Starkville from the University of Pisa and the 20-year-old freshman will have four years of eligibility for State. The native of Viareggio, Italy has collected 12 ATP singles points while sporting a career-high ATP singles ranking of 1140.

🗣️ "The combination of our values as a program with his tennis and personal goals has been a perfect match from the start, and we're excited to see him grow here in Starkville.” - Jake Jacoby, assistant coach
