The Dudes: Grand Purpose (S.1 E.4). In this episode, we follow Burke Masters from his iconic grand slam to send the Bulldogs to Omaha to his unexpected path as a Catholic priest and now as the Chicago Cubs' team chaplain. Reflecting on his college years, Masters shares how baseball instilled values in him that still resonate today. 🔼 On To The Next. Despite a late ninth-inning rally from the Diamond Dawgs, Mississippi State fell to Vanderbilt, 4-3. David Mershon and Connor Hujsak led the team with a pair of hits each while starting pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje put in a solid six innings of work, allowing five hits, three runs and striking out 10 batters.
State will return to action against Tennessee today with the first pitch set for approximately 6:30 p.m.
🔼 Tickets Please. Mississippi State Track and Field women punched two more tickets to Eugene and two trips to Friday's quarterfinals on the second day of the NCAA East First Rounds. Ella Knott (javelin) and Jhordyn Stallworth (shot put) will take their first trip to the NCAA Outdoor Track and Field Championships while Rosealee Cooper and Jessicka Woods will have the opportunity to secure a ticket in the 100m hurdles on Saturday.
🔼 Terrific Trio. Three members of the Bulldog women's tennis team were recently tabbed Academic All-District by the CSC. Chloé Cirotte, Maria Rizzolo and Alessia Tagliente all represented the Bulldogs on the list due to their drive in the classroom. It was Cirotte's second time to earn the honor while Rizzolo and Tagliente received the recognition for the first time.
