📈 STOCK UP

🔼 It’s Never Too Early. It’s early, but the Preseason All-SEC selections by Athlon Sports are out for football, and the Bulldogs came away with quite the list of members for this upcoming season. Headlining the group is quarterback Will Rogers who is looking to take his game to the next level for his senior year. Surrounding him are:

  • DL Jaden Crumedy

  • WR/KR Lideatrick Griffin

  • LB Nathaniel Watson

  • PR Zavion Thomas

  • OL Nick Jones

  • RN Jo’Quavious Marks

  • LB Jett Johnson

  • OL Cole Smith

In case you weren’t counting, that’s nine members of the team selected. We can’t wait to see these Dawgs take the field to see who can finish the season just as it started, on an All-SEC team.

🔼 Hitting Our Stride. MSU’s golf programs have had their fair share of success on the course this year during NCAA Tournament play, but many have also maintained that same level of play in the classroom. Six of the program’s members were announced as Academic All-District honorees.

Among the group is Ford Clegg, a two-time First Team Academic All-American and the only DI men’s golfer selected in each of the last two years. Joining him are Abbey Daniel, the sole State women’s golfer to be selected, Austin Vukovits, Hunter Logan, Pedro Cruz Silva, and Harrison Davis. Each member qualified thanks to achieving above a 3.50 GPA as well as their efforts out on the course.

🔼 All Around Athletes. Speaking of academics, for the 12th consecutive semester in a row, State Athletics as a whole accomplished a GPA above 3.0 or higher. This spring, our student-athletes achieved an impressive 3.18 GPA. At MSU, you’re going to be more than an athlete, and ours have been proving it for six straight years.

🔼 Tip-Off Tourney. The Bulldogs are headed north to Connecticut as the team announced yesterday that they will compete in the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament to open up the season. The Dawgs will face off against Washington State on November 18th for a chance to open the season on a high note.

🤔 BULLDOG TRIVIA

Quality Start. Last year, the Bulldogs’ men’s basketball team started off the season in a similar tip-off tourney that saw them upset an eventual conference champion.

Our question today — can you remember which team State defeated in last years 2022-2023 tip-off tournament?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Marquette!

The eventual Big East regular season and tournament champion started off the season with an L thanks to the Bulldogs. The good guys won in a close one, 58-55. More of that next season, please!
