📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Fourth Round Finish. In the final round of stroke play yesterday, the Bulldogs, as a team, carded the fifth best score of the day with a three under-par 285. It was the best score MSU put together across all four rounds of the tournament.

Both Hannah Levi and Surapa Janthamunee finished their rounds off strong after they both shot 70. The number would be a common theme for MSU for the round as Julia Lopez Ramirez also put together a round of 70 to finish in sole possession of 13th place.

With the team coming in 13th place, the Bulldogs will miss the opportunity to play in the match play event of the NCAA Championships. It was an incredible season, and this team made going low look easy.

🔼 Award Winners. With the regular season all wrapped up, two members of MSU’s baseball team were selected to All-SEC teams for their efforts this season.

  • Hunter Hines was named to a First Team All-SEC team, and becomes the first designated hitter to garner a first-team selection since 2016. Only three other DH Dawgs have earned the award, so it’s safe to say Hines is in good company.

  • Dakota Jordan was named to the Freshman All-SEC team after making 41 total starts. During SEC play, he hit an impressive .333 at the plate.

🔼 Wheels Up. State track and field is headed to NCAA Regionals that are set to begin this Wednesday. The squad makes their way to Jacksonville, FL on a mission to make some noise and attempt to qualify their way to the NCAA Outdoor Championships next month in Austin, TX. Stay tuned for some results later this week.

🔼 Listen In. Head coach Dusty Smith and the rest of the MSU men’s golf team are busy prepping for their NCAA Championship for this weekend after an incredible win during NCAA Regional play. Smith drops by to chat with The Dear Ol’ State podcast to talk about the road ahead, and what Bulldog fans should expect out of this group. Give it a listen here.

🔼 Hard Fought. The NCAA Singles Championship for the Bulldogs come to a close after a hard fought battle by Emmanouela Antonaki. She wraps up the season with 19 total wins, including five ranked wins.

After falling behind in the first set 3-6, Antonaki battled back and took the second set convincingly 6-1 sending the match to a winner-take-all third set. Antonaki did all she could, but ultimately dropped the last set to eliminate her from the tournament. The No. 47 ranked tennis player in the NCAA has nothing to hang her head about, and will return to Starkville with a rain of support for her efforts.

🤔 BULLDOG TRIVIA

Way Under Par. Both of State’s golf programs have had an incredible season, and will surely be a year these programs won’t soon forget. The men’s team tees off this weekend, and will need to go low to perform well.

Our question today — do you know what the lowest score a men’s team has posted in school history is?

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: 265!

Now that seems like a lot, but with a combination of four golfer’s scores, that came out to 23-under. Better yet, it was accomplished this season at the Mossy Oak Collegiate. That feels like some good juju as they head into NCAA Championship play.

Have a great Tuesday, y'all.
