🎥 THE DUDES

The Dudes: Grand Purpose (S.1 E.4). In this episode, we follow Burke Masters from his iconic grand slam to send the Bulldogs to Omaha to his unexpected path as a Catholic priest and now as the Chicago Cubs' team Chaplain. Reflecting on his college years, Masters shares how baseball instilled in him values that still resonate today. Integrating his love for the game with his spiritual calling, he finds fulfillment in guiding players both on and off the field. Through his story, we witness the seamless blending of sportsmanship, faith, and the unwavering belief in God's plan that defines Masters' remarkable journey.

🎥 THE DUDES

The Dudes: Ring of Honor (S.1 E.3). The Ron Polk Ring of Honor recognizes the very best to come through the Mississippi State baseball program. This year, former pitcher Bobby Reed and current radio announcer Jim Ellis were inducted for their achievements and had their names enshrined at Dudy Noble Field. Hear from both Jim and Bobby as they reminisce on their careers and reflect on what this honor means to them.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Top Class. For the third year in a row, Bulldog women’s golf’s Julia Lopez Ramirez was named an ANNIKA Award Watch List finalist. The award honors the most outstanding female collegiate golfer of the year, as selected by college golfers, coaches and members of the college golf media. As one of the premier golfers since arriving in Starkville, Lopez Ramirez won her second-straight SEC Individual Championship while helping the Bulldogs win their first-ever SEC Team Championship.

🔼 The Road Continues. Mississippi State's softball is headed back to the NCAA Tournament for its sixth appearance in the last seven years. Following the team’s 30+ win season, the Bulldogs will start their road to Oklahoma City as the No. 2 seed in the Stanford Regional. Joining the Bulldogs in the region are Stanford, the No. 8 overall seed, Cal State Fullerton and Saint Mary’s. State will open the double-elimination regional on Friday, May 17 at 6:30 p.m. against Cal State Fullerton

🔼 Chart Toppers. Bulldog track and field concluded its season at the SEC Outdoor Championships where school records were shattered. The men’s and women’s 4×100 relay teams recorded the second-fastest and fastest times in program history which helped earn a total of seven points for State. Individually, Kennedy Jackson, Jordan Ware and Tyrese Reid each showed out with Jackson finishing fourth in the SEC in the heptathlon with a personal record of 5,366 points. Ware finished fifth in the conference in the 200m and Reid helped the men’s team earn a point in the 800m.

🔼 Terrific Trio. Bulldog softball had three student-athletes named to an All-SEC team including Madisyn Kennedy, Aspen Wesley and Sierra Sacco. The selections mark just the sixth time that State has seen three or more players land on the first or second team in one season and the first since 2019. Kennedy earned her spot on the All-SEC First Team after leading the SEC in slugging percentage and was second in OPS and RBI during conference play. Wesley and Sacco were each named to the All-SEC Second Team.

🔼 Final Showing. Bulldog men’s tennis picked up a pair of ranked wins during Saturday's Sweet 16 showdown at No. 1 Ohio State, but were unable to extend their season beyond the Super Regional round, falling to the Buckeyes 4-1. The Bulldogs failed to earn the doubles point, but Petar Jovanovic came out strong to earn State its sole point in his singles win.

Jovanovic, Nemanja Malesevic and Benito Sanchez Martinez will continue to compete in the NCAA Individual Championships from May 20-25. Jovanovic and Malesevic are set to play singles at the event while Jovanovic and Sanchez Martinez – the 11th -ranked duo in the nation – will test how they stack up in doubles.
