📈 STOCK UP

🔼 One, Two Punch. If you thought Day One of Regionals seemed like a successful day, Day Two has the potential to blow you away. The Bulldogs put on a masterful display on the course yesterday afternoon, and now holds an eight shot lead on the next closest team.

Julia Lopez Ramirez was back at it again, and carded a bogey-free six-under 66 to give her the outright lead heading into the final day of the tournament. She sits atop the leaderboard at 11 under-par. There is potential for friendly fire as Lopez Ramirez’ one stroke lead is in danger with Hannah Levi right behind her at 10 under-par after carding her own 66 on the day. She heads into the final round in solo second.

Izzy Pellot remained steady and consistent with her second consecutive 71 for the tournament. She finished the day in a tie for 14th with three other players. Rounding out the top-4 players for the day was Abbey Daniel who bounced back from yesterday’s round with a nine shot improvement, finishing Day 2 with an even-par round. Mississippi State, as a team, finished the second round at 21 under-par, and is in good position to advance heading into the final round.

🔼 Another One. Women’s basketball head coach, Sam Purcell, is staying busy this offseason as he announced another signee set to join the program this coming season.

2023 All-SEC Second Team and No. 21 transfer recruit in the nation, Erynn Barnum, is joining the Bulldogs fresh off of time with the Arkansas Razorbacks. Barnum comes to Starkville after averaging career highs in points per game (15.0), rebounds per game (6.5), assists (66), blocks (38), and steals (47). Safe to say, she is bringing her best to the court this coming season. Barnum also started all 37 games last season in the SEC and surpassed 1,000 points in her career.

Coach Purcell is ready to see what Barnum can contribute to the team. “Adding Erynn to our team gives us an already proven SEC player who can come in on day one and contribute at a high level.” After becoming the third all-conference transfer the Bulldogs have signed, it’s no secret that MSU women’s basketball is building something special.

🔼 Hitting The Road. The 2023 Road Dawgs Tour is off and running, and you are not going to want to miss a chance to sit down and meet with some members of our Bulldog family.

Athletic Director Zac Selmon and MSU football head coach Zach Arnett are heading off on the Road Dawgs Tour today. The duo will plan to make a stop in Hunstville, Alabama at 11:30am at The Speakeasy at Straight to Ale and then head to Atlanta, Georgia later in the day at 6:00pm at Taco Mac PRADO. Thanks to Coastal Mississippi Tourism, you can enter into a giveaway that features dining gift cards, attractions passes, a two-night resort trip, and much more.

The Road Dawg Tour will continue through May 17th, so head on out to see some Bulldogs, and don’t forget to enter into the giveaway for prizes you won’t want to miss out on.

🎉 TRIVIA ANSWER

Answer: Erynn Barnum!

She scored her career high of 37 points against Ole Miss last season, barely edging out Darrione Rogers who scored 36 points versus Miami in the 2022 season. These girls know how to get buckets.

Have a great Wednesday, y'all.
