🔼 Perfect Introduction. The Maroon and White Game exemplified exactly what head coach Jeff Lebby means when he talks about it being showtime at State. Using a unique scoring system, MSU's offense claimed a 67-53 victory over the defense on Saturday afternoon at Davis Wade Stadium with standouts and highlights galore.

Quarterbacks Blake Shapen and Chris Parson each had tremendous days. Shapen completed 18 of his 22 passes for 312 yards and three touchdowns, while Parson was 7-of-13 through the air for 124 yards and a pair of scores.

🗣️ "For us, it's still about climbing this thing one day at a time and finding ways to get better and everybody involved understanding we're going to be better together. We need everybody. We need their support every single day to be able to get done what all we're trying to get done." - Jeff Lebby

🔼 Super Sweep. The Diamond Dawgs won both games in Sunday's doubleheader to complete the series sweep over Auburn after winning game one, 3-1, and then taking game two, 4-3. The first game of the day featured a gem of a performance from starting pitcher Jurrangelo Cijntje who went 6.2 innings and punched out five for his sixth victory of the season. Game two featured heroics from Connor Hujsak who knocked in Dakota Jordan in the bottom of the ninth inning to walk it off and secure the series sweep.

🔼 Postseason Play. State men’s tennis grabbed early momentum on Friday by clinching the doubles point in their opening match of the SEC Championships. Still, the Bulldogs were unable to sustain the momentum and succumbed to 24th-ranked South Carolina 4-2 in the quarterfinals. Roberto Ferrer Guimares earned the lone singles point after battling back in his match to earn the three-set win. Mississippi State now awaits its postseason fate with the selection show for the NCAA Championships airing on April 29 at 5 p.m.

🔼 Dear Ol’ State. The 1971 Mississippi State baseball team was the first group of Bulldogs to ever get to the College World Series. On the latest episode of Dear Ol' State, that team's left fielder, Ted Milton, joins Joel Coleman to look back on that trailblazing '71 group.
