Bulldog Brew 4/17: Keep It Rollin'
The Diamond Dawgs are riding a wave of momentum!

Good morning, Bulldogs! Coach Lebby will be coming to you live from the SEC Football Kickoff Media Days on Wednesday, July 16!
What else do we have brewing today?
⚾️ Dawgs have momentum
⛳️ Match play next
🐶 And much, much more!

Mississippi State football is set to put a lid on spring practice at noon on Saturday when the Bulldogs host their annual spring game at Davis Wade Stadium. With free admission, it’s a great chance for MSU fans to get to know some of State’s new stars as well as reacquaint themselves with returning players.
One of the veteran Bulldogs who’ll be looking to put on a show Saturday is wide receiver Jordan Mosley. The senior pass catcher had 405 yards and three touchdowns last year for MSU, but he’s eyeing so much more in 2025.
A few days ago, Mosley met with reporters and talked about his goals for the coming campaign, the depth of State’s receiver room and so much more. As you get set to ring your cowbell on Saturday, pass the time by checking out some of the things Mosley had to say about himself and his team.
On which of the other receivers have caught his eye so far: “Pretty much all of them. The guys came in with the right mindset ready to work every day. I think this is probably the deepest room we’ve had [since I’ve been here]. But I think we’ve got a lot of guys that have added a different aspect to the game and to the offense. We have bigger guys like [Jaron Glover] and [Markus Allen] who can go out there and be physical and make tough physical plays. Then we have speed with [Brenen Thompson] and I say myself and [Gracen Harris] and [Ricky Johnson]. Ricky is having a phenomenal spring right now. It’s good to watch everybody come together and try to jell as a group.”
More on Ricky Johnson: “He’s that guy. He is ready. He’s probably the smoothest route runner I’ve seen in a long time. He’s just someone who understands how to run the route and how to manipulate his body. He doesn’t always use his speed. It makes him extremely hard to guard. Ricky is having a great spring.”
On how he’s helping the new guys: “Just trying to fill them in and show them the ropes. I’m just doing my part and leading by example. Any questions they have, they’re always able to come and talk to me. I am an open book, someone that has been in this offense. I understand how this offense works, and I can help when there is a need.”
On if anything is different for himself this year: “I would say the main thing that is different, I want to dominate going into the season and just put myself out there. I feel like I had a lot of opportunities that were missed last year. Football is a game where you miss a lot of plays. I feel like if I hit those, I can have a better year. Going into this year, I just want to showcase what I can do. I just want to go out there and do what is best for the team every weekend and put myself out there.”
On catching passes from this year’s quarterback group: “Everybody is different. [Blake Shapen] is Blake. It is good to see him back out there healthy and slinging the ball. It’s always fun playing with your quarterback, and me and him have a great relationship. It’s good to go out there and catch passes from him again. Then you got [Luke Kromenhoek], who came in from Florida State. He is young but is also very good. He has good arm talent. Right now, he is learning the offense, him and [KaMario Taylor] aren’t yet as confident as Blake running the offense, but it takes time. By fall camp everybody will be locked in. We got the young bull – [KaMario Taylor]. I don’t want to get too high on him but one of the best arms I’ve seen ever. He is an elite quarterback for his age.”
On which cornerbacks have been standing out as he goes against them: “I like them all. You got [Kelley Jones]. [DeAgo Brumfield] is incredibly smart. [Jayven Williams] is very fast and [Traveon Wright] is back and he is having a good spring. That room is very competitive as well. Just seeing them get out here each and every day trying to attack it and make each other better is only making us better as a receiver corps.”

A 2007 and 2009 graduate of Mississippi State, Coleman has worked inside and around MSU sports for nearly two decades with prior stops also including the Starkville Daily News and Sports Illustrated.)
