The Dudes: Opening Day (S.1 E.2). Welcome to Dudy Noble Field as the 2024 season has officially begun! Hear from athletics staff members as they walk you through what it takes to bring Starkville the best fan experience in college baseball. Later, get an inside look at the Left Field Lounge and how the Bulldog's super fans are enjoying Opening Day.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Feeling Elite. Behind eight fourth-quarter points from Jessika Carter, Mississippi State overcame a late comeback attempt and pushed ahead in the final minutes of action to defeat TCU, 68-61, in the WBIT Second Round. Carter led the team in points, rebounds and blocks with 17 points, eight rebounds and three blocks while Jerkaila Jordan added 15 points, five rebounds, five steals and three assists. The Bulldogs will await the winner of Penn State vs. Belmont for a chance to advance to the final four.

🔼 Down The Road. The Diamond Dawgs split the first two games of the series against Texas A&M heading into Saturday but dropped the final game in their visit to the No. 7 ranked team in the nation. Friday’s win saw pitcher Stephan Khal and company allow just five hits and one earned run while heavy hitter Hunter Hines drove in three RBI on three hits. The win also earned the Bulldogs its 1,000th career SEC victory in program history.

🔼 Medaling Dawgs. Over the weekend at the Bulldog Alumni Relays, State track and field secured three first-place medals and one all-time top-five performance. Freshman Roury McCloyen nabbed gold in the discus while Michaela McCall earned her spot on top of the podium for the first time in the 400m with a personal record time of 54.35. The women's 4x800 won first place and broke into State's all-time top-five performance list with a time of 8:46.40 with a squad that featured Hayley Ogle, Hunter Anderson, Mallory Streetman and Gabrielle Boulay.

🔼 Sunday Split. State women’s tennis split its Sunday doubleheader on home court with a win over Mississippi Valley State and a loss against top-25 ranked Auburn. The Bulldogs won all four singles matches against MVSU, 6-0, for the team’s 10th victory of the season.

🔼 Comeback Kings. The No. 19 Bulldog men’s tennis team earned its second-straight ranked SEC road win of the weekend against Florida, 4-3. After rallying back to beat South Carolina, State found itself in a similar position having to fight back after losing the doubles point. Nemanja Malesevic, Petar Jovanovic and Benito Sanchez Martinez each earned straight-set singles wins while Carles Hernandez came through with a hard-fought three-set to seal the deal for the Bulldogs. The win improved State to 13-5 on the season and 5-2 in SEC play.

🔼 All The Runs. Thanks to a nine-run fourth inning, Bulldog softball secured the series win, 15-7, over No. 18-ranked Arkansas on the road. Madisyn Kennedy started the offensive effort with a two-run homer in the first. Sierra Sacco hit her first career home run in the second inning to get State out to a 6-0 lead. Then the runs poured in, all with two outs, in the fourth inning with four extra-base hits in the frame. State’s run-rule win was its 12th this year, tied for second-most in school history and one shy of the school record set in 2008.
