🔼 Strong Introduction. State softball’s Salen Hawkins was named the SEC Co-Freshman of the Week following her performance in Oxford last weekend. Hawkins led all players with at least four at-bats in conference play with a .625 batting average. Hawkins now leads the team with a .390 batting average, ranking third among SEC freshmen this season. Her eight double plays turned also rank third in the SEC. She helped lead State to a series victory on the road to open conference play for the first time since 2018 and was instrumental in both Bulldog victories.

🔼 Keep On Climbing. State men’s tennis cracked the top 15 teams in the country in the latest ITA Rankings following the team’s 4-3 comeback win against No. 19 LSU. The Bulldogs return to the court this weekend to face off against a pair of SEC foes on its homecourt in Vanderbilt and Kentucky.

🔼 Round Three Recap. Bulldog men’s golf shot a combined 12-over 300 in the final round of the Seminole Intercollegiate and climbed four places on the day to finish tied for sixth. The finish marks MSU's fifth tournament this year finishing in the top half of the field. State was led by Drew Wilson who shot a 3-over 75 in the final round to finish 1-under overall. Wilson's score was good enough for a tie for eighth place, marking his second top-10 finish in three tournaments this season.

🔼 Meeting With Jans. Head coach of the Bulldog men’s basketball team, Chris Jans, met with the media ahead of the battle against LSU. Hear from the head honcho as he discusses the team’s mindset going into the postseason, his All-SEC players and the state of the conference.

🔼 Power Hitters. Diamond Dawgs Dakota Jordan and Amani Larry each blasted home runs in the fourth inning against South Alabama, but the team ultimately fell 6-5 at Shuckers Ballpark. Larry and Jordan led the way at the plate tonight as Larry went 2-for-5 while accumulating three RBIs that came from his three-run homer. Jordan went 2-for-4 with two RBIs, which came from his two-run bomb. Mississippi State will be back in action on Saturday when they face New Orleans in the second game of the Hancock Whitney Classic.
