🔼 Best In State. One of Bulldog women’s basketball’s leaders, Jessika Carter, took home the 2024 Gillom Trophy, an award annually given to the best female college basketball player in the state of Mississippi. The three-time finalist finally earned her first Gillom Trophy award and is now the seventh recipient from Mississippi State over the last 10 seasons. The 2024 Second Team All-SEC selection has recorded 41 double-doubles which rank third in program history and second among active conference players. 

🔼 Honorable Trio. Three Bulldog men’s basketball players landed on an All-SEC team following the end of the regular season.

🏆️ Tolu Smith III received the All-SEC First Team nod for the second consecutive season. Smith III was one of four players in the Power 6 to average at least 16.0 points, eight rebounds and shoot 55.0+ percent from the floor this season.  

🏆️ Josh Hubbard secured All-SEC Second Team status and became the second freshman in program history to come away with such honors. State's freshmen set the single-season record with 521 points previously held by Rickey Brown (1976-77) and piled up double-digit points in 26 of 31 games.

🏆️ Cameron Matthews was one of five players selected to the All-SEC Defensive Team. The defensive stalwart ranked among the SEC's top 10 in four categories: steals (2.06 – 2nd), rebounds (7.10 – 6th), offensive rebounds (2.48 – 7th) and defensive rebounds (4.61 – 8th).

🔼 Best In State II. State men’s basketball’s Josh Hubbard made history as the first freshman to win the Bailey Howell Trophy, an award given to the best male college basketball player in the Magnolia State. Hubbard is the ninth State player to capture the honor and extends the Bulldogs’ run to six of the last seven seasons to win the Howell Trophy presented by the Mississippi Band of Choctaw Indians and Pearl River Resort.

🔼 Through Two. After completing two rounds on the first day at the Seminole Intercollegiate, the No. 22-ranked Bulldog men’s golf team finished in tenth place. State’s effort was led by Drew Wilson who, in his third tournament this year, shot a 2-under 70 in both rounds on Monday. Overall, Wilson collected 10 birdies on the day and finished 4-under overall, just five strokes back from the individual lead. The other five competing Bulldogs combined for 13 birdies during the two rounds. State will tee off at 8 a.m. today to start the final round.   

🔼 Dawg In The House. State’s standout outfielder, Dakota Jordan, was named the SEC Co-Player of the Week. He becomes the first Diamond Dawg to win the SEC Player of the Week since the 2022 season. Jordan led the SEC with a .692 batting average last week to go along with a .778 on-base percentage, four home runs and two doubles. His performance at the plate drove in 13 runs and helped the Bulldogs to a 4-0 record for the week.
