📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Thumbs Up. State earned its fourth-straight victory with a 73-64 win on the road against Texas A&M. Erynn Barnum dominated inside all afternoon with 22 points on 9-11 from the field in addition to six rebounds and three assists. Barnum recorded her first 20-plus point contest of the season and surpassed her previous Mississippi State high. The Bulldogs forced 22 turnovers in the contest, the most it has forced in a conference game this season, which turned into 23 points.

🔼 Road Tested. The first road trip of the spring resulted in a 4-3 loss for men’s tennis after falling to Middle Tennessee. The Bulldogs fell behind early, but the combination of Dusan Milanovic, Nemanja Malesevic, and Radomir Tomic kept the score close. The No. 22 ranked Bulldogs will look to bounce back when they return to the road to face off against Memphis on Wednesday.

🔼 The Dawg On Fire. Four representatives from Bulldog men’s golf went to compete at the three-day Thomas Sharkey Individual Collegiate, and one golfer shined above the rest. In his collegiate debut, freshman Drew Wilson finished the tournament in a tie for third and carded a tournament-best bogey-free round of 65 during round two. Wilson went on to finish his final round with an impressive 2-under-par round making him just one of nine golfers to complete the tournament under par.

🔼 Bout In Bama. Bulldog men’s basketball nabbed 19 rebounds in the first half, including six off the offensive glass, and shot 8-of-11 from the free throw line to stay in the game early, but ultimately fell to the Crimson Tide on the road. Forward Tolu Smith III finished with a team-high 23 points on 8-of-14 shooting while adding five rebounds to the stat sheet, and Shawn Jones Jr. had a season-high 10 points off the bench while recording six boards and two steals. Up next, State will take on Georgia with tip-off set for 8 p.m. Wednesday.

🔼 Deja Vu. For the second time in as many days, State women’s tennis found themselves in a critical third set on the final court. In both instances, the Bulldogs came out on top. The state earned 4-3 wins against UAB and Belmont to remain undefeated on the season.

🗣️ "I'm incredibly proud of my two seniors (Chloe Cirotte and Alexandra Mikhailuk). They're my captains and are planting the seeds for a tree that they probably won't get to shade under. That's selfless and I'm proud and grateful to be their coach. Whenever we start to have success here, it's crucial that we don't forget those two that laid those foundations." - head coach Chris Hooshyar
