📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Make That Five. The Bulldogs extended its winning streak to five games on Saturday night, topping LSU 87-67 on the road. The win improved State to 19-8 on the season and 8-6 in SEC play. Josh Hubbard’s career night helped carry the Dawgs to a win with his 32 points, the first 30-point game for the Maroon and White since the 2021-22 season. Tolu Smith III scored 19 points off the bench and neared a double-double with a game-high nine rebounds, and KeShawn Murphy added to the Bulldogs' scoring efforts, finishing with 11 points. The Bulldogs will look to extend the longest winning streak in the SEC to six as the team heads back to StarkVegas for a matchup against the Kentucky Wildcats on Tuesday night.

🔼 Big League Ball. At the Mary Nutter Collegiate Classic, State softball recorded its 1,000th win in program history following a 3-2 record over the weekend. On Thursday, the Bulldogs came out on top in both games in a defensive battle against UCF (2-1) and a come-from-behind win against Notre Dame (7-4). In the tournament’s second day, the Bulldogs faced No. 1 Oklahoma and battled hard only to fall, 9-3. On their final day in the Golden State, State rallied off another win (4-2) against Cal State Fullerton after being down a run, but the Bulldogs could not pull away with a closing win against Fresno State (3-1).

Next weekend, Mississippi State will host a tournament of its own, the Bulldog Invitational presented by C Spire, at Nusz Park where the team will enter 11-3 on the season.

🔼 Series Won. The Diamond Dawgs earned a series victory over Georgia Southern in game three with a 10-2 win over the Eagles. The Bulldog’s offense exploded for 10 runs in the game and had support on the mound thanks to a solid outing from Jurrangelo Cijntje. He claimed his first win of the year with seven K’s, one hit, one earned run and two walks. State finished the game with 15 hits with David Mershon leading the way after going 4-of-5 at the plate with two RBI.

🔼 On To The Next. State women’s basketball fell to Alabama on the road, 87-75, despite a comeback attempt from the Bulldogs that came up just short. Jessika Carter finished with her 13th double-double of the season on 18 points and 14 rebounds, while sophomore guard Debreasha Powe added 15 points behind five triples from behind the arc. It marked Powe’s fifth career game with five or more made threes. Mississippi State remains on the road to take on Auburn on Thursday at 7 p.m.

🔼 Comeback Complete. No. 24 Mississippi State will head into SEC play riding a four-match winning streak after earning a 4-3 victory at Tulane. State earned the win despite not having played a match in 14 days. After failing to secure the doubles point, the Bulldogs turned it on in singles play with four straight-set victories from Nemanja Malesevic, Petar Jovanovic, Carles Hernandez and Benito Sanchez Martinez to take the match and improve their record to 8-3 on the season.

🔼 Weekend Split. Bulldog women’s tennis split its Friday doubleheader in New Orleans to move to 9-3 on the season. In State’s first match against Tulane, the Dawgs fell 4-0 but bounced right back with a win over New Orleans 4-1. Duo partners Chloe Cirotte and Athina Pitta won both of their doubles matches, and Jayna Clemens clinched her second match of the season with her singles win against New Orleans. State will now enter SEC play on the road on Saturday against Ole Miss.
