🔼 Gold Cup. Mississippi State Soccer midfielder Ilana Izquierdo has been chosen to represent her home country of Colombia in the inaugural Concacaf Women's Gold Cup. This prestigious international women's soccer competition will see Izquierdo don the Colombian colors as she competes alongside other top talents from across the Concacaf region. Izquierdo, a standout player for State, was named to the SEC Preseason watchlist and started in all 23 matches. Throughout the season, Izquierdo scored goals against FIU and LSU and clinched the game-winning goal in the Magnolia Cup against Ole Miss. She also set a new junior record with 2,097 minutes on the pitch.

🔼 Media Meet Up. State men’s basketball head coach Chris Jans met with the media leading into Monday's practice to preview this week's action against in-state rival Ole Miss and LSU. Jans discussed preparing his guys for a rivalry game, the advantage Bulldog Nation brings to The Hump and the impact guys like D.J. Jeffries and Shawn Jones Jr. have had on the court as of late. Here is what Coach Jans had to say about State fans:

🗣️ "Yeah, I'm excited about the crowds. I think we had three sellouts last year if I'm not mistaken, and we've already surpassed that with a few games left on the season. We certainly appreciate them being our sixth man. They certainly helped us down the stretch against Arkansas. The place got really loud the last few defensive possessions and kind of got us over the hump to be able to bring it home." - Chris Jans
