📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Big Dawgs. For the second time this season, the Bulldogs knocked off a top 10 team in the nation as State came away with the 64-58 win over No. 8 ranked Auburn in front of a packed crowd of Maroon and White faithful. The Dawgs defense shined as it held the Tigers to a 33.9% shooting percentage.

🗣️ "A lot of kids dream about moments like that, you know. Sold-out crowds and playing in those types of environments is definitely fun." - Josh Hubbard

Both teams were tied at 21 at the half, but after Auburn took a one-point lead with eight minutes left to play, the Bulldogs regained the lead and held onto it until the final buzzer. Shakeel Moore sank two free throws with 30 seconds remaining to seal the deal for the Dawgs. Hubbard led all scorers in the upset victory with 17 points while Cameron Matthews secured a double-double in his 14-point, 11-rebound performance.

Riding high with momentum, the Bulldogs will travel to Oxford to take on Ole Miss in a Magnolia State showdown on Tuesday at 7:30 p.m.

🔼 Just Getting Started. The Bulldogs saw 13 new personal bests set, and three individuals who earned their spot on State’s top performances list at the Razorback Invitational this weekend.

🗣️ “We have shown great improvement from our last competition. We are obviously looking for more improvement as we move deeper into the regular season. I'm excited about how well we will and can perform after having an off week to get some solid practice in." - head coach Chris Woods

The highlight of the weekend was Jhordyn Stallworth’s record-breaking shot put on Saturday afternoon. Stallworth shattered the previous record she set last year, 15.78m (51' 9.25"), with a distance of 16.40m (53' 9.75"). Another bright spot was senior and middle-distance runner Tyrese Reid, who broke into State's all-time performance list for the first time in the 800m. Reid's time of 1:48.50 also ranks as the fourth fastest time in the SEC this season.

🔼 Shaping Starkville. Inside the beautiful, newly-renovated Hump, these members of the MSU family gathered together for a brief celebration as key contributors to the $50 million project that has ensured the Dawgs' home arena remains one of the premier college hoops facilities in the country. It was a bit of a party, and at the same time, it was a massive thank you. It was all a reminder of what's possible when everyone in Maroon and White moves forward, hand in hand.
