🔼 Man of the Year. Each season, one representative from each NFL team is nominated for the Walter Payton Man of the Year Award. The award is given to an individual that exhibits excellence both on and off the field.

The man who is constantly giving back to his communities and putting others first, former Mississippi State defender Jeffery Simmons of the Tennessee Titans’, has been nominated. Jeffery will have a chance to win his first Walter Payton Man of the Year award, and the winner will be announced at NFL Honors on Feb. 8, 2024.

🔼 It’s Back! Bulldog basketball’s radio show “Dawg Talk” is back for a second consecutive season with head coaches Chris Jans and Sam Purcell. The 60-minute program will be available live and in-person at Walk-Ons Sports Bistreaux in Starkville, on-air at MSU Sports Radio Network, and live on Facebook at www.facebook.com/HailState.

The first show of the season will debut on Dec. 12 and will feature Coach Jans with Neil Price, "The Voice of the Bulldogs". Every subsequent week, the two head coaches will switch off making appearances on “Dawg Talk”.

🔼 Graduating Dawgs. Mississippi State Athletics achieved an all-time high Graduation Success Rate of 91 percent, the highest GSR in school history, breaking the Bulldog’s previous records of 90 percent in 2022 and 2017.

Six Bulldog programs earned perfect scores of 100: men's basketball, women's golf, softball, women's tennis, women's cross country and track and field, and volleyball.

Four programs registered scores of 90 or better, including soccer (95), men's golf (92), women's basketball (92) and baseball (91).

Bulldog Excellence. The NFL’s Walter Payton Man of the Year award is one of the highest honors in all of professional football, and being nominated for the award on its own is a big deal.
