The Bulldog women’s team has excelled in head coach Sam Purcell’s second season in charge. State is averaging a scoring margin of +20.7 points per game with 11.4 more rebounds, 5.4 more assists and two fewer turnovers per game.

Head coach Chris Jans has his team headed in the right direction with non-conference play nearing an end. The Bulldogs have a +13 scoring margin through 11 games and have averaged 7.9 more rebounds, 5.5 more assists and 1.3 more blocks per game.

Both teams will be back in action before Christmas with the Bulldog women taking on Colorado State on Dec. 20 while the Bulldog men will head to New Jersey to take on Rutgers in the Gotham Classic on Dec. 23.

🔼 One Last Time. State linebacker and accolade accumulator Bookie Watson will suit up one final time for the Bulldogs after accepting his invitation to the 2024 Reese’s Senior Bowl. The game is notorious for inviting elite draft prospects from around the country who are selected to showcase their talent and connect with coaches and decision-makers from all 32 NFL teams.

🔼 Hall of Fame. Former Diamond Dawg Jonathan Papelbon was announced as one of three members of the 2024 Red Sox Hall of Fame Class. As a fourth-round pick by Boston in the 2003 MLB Draft, Papelbon spent his first seven professional seasons with the Red Sox. The six-time All-Star posted 368 saves in 689 professional appearances, struck out 808 batters in 725 career innings and helped Boston to its second World Series title of the 2000s.
