Good morning! This week in men’s hoops is shaping up to be a good one! The Bulldogs will take on two opponents starting with Murray State for “Christmas at the Hump” Wednesday, and will follow that up with a matchup against North Texas for “Magnolia Madness” on Sunday in Tupelo, Mississippi.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Dawg Pile. Another day, another new accolade for linebacker Bookie Watson to add to his career honors. The SEC’s leading tackler was selected as an AP All-American. Watson finished the season with 137 total tackles, sixth in the nation, and 10 sacks, tied for ninth in the nation. Watson concluded his time in Starkville having played in 57 games with 379 tackles, 35 tackles for loss, 21 sacks, along with two interceptions and three forced fumbles.

🔼 Never Looked Back. The Bulldogs jumped out to a big lead against Kennesaw State and never looked back in their 91-50 win at The Hump. The victory marked the second time this season the team has scored 90+ points and improved State to a 9-2 record.

Jessika Carter finished the game with a double-double that included a career-high 31 points and 13 rebounds. Jerkaila Jordan shot 50% from the field and added 19 points to the Bulldogs score while also getting it done on defense with four steals. Mjracle Sheppard also showed off her defense with an impressive seven steals on the night.

Next up, Sam Purcell and the Bulldogs will have a quick turnaround as they prepare to host Jackson State on Thursday at 6:30 p.m.
