🔼 Rode the Wave. In one of the most productive offensive performances in nearly 20 years, the Bulldogs got in the win column with a 106-76 victory over Tulane. 12 different State players got in on the scoring while five Bulldogs finished the game with double-digits.

The Bulldogs started off on a 17-2 run and never looked back. Freshman Josh Hubbard once again led the way with 22 points on 5-7 shooting from three-point land while Cameron Matthews and Jimmy Bell Jr. each finished with 14 points on a combined 12-17 from the field.

Next up, State will take on Murray State at home on Wednesday at 6:30 p.m.

🔼 Bring On Another. State softball went ahead and added the No. 12 pitcher in the class to its roster. Sara Phillips is a MaxPreps First Team High School All-American and was nominated for USA Today HSSA Softball Player of the Year.

🗣️ "She's shown her pure athleticism by playing three sports at Hewitt-Trussville and reaching the state championship in two of them. With a proven track record in championships and on the biggest stages and her elite spin, she will be a valuable addition to our bullpen." - Samantha Ricketts

🔼 More Additions. Over the weekend, head coach Jeff Lebby made two important hires bringing in Matt Barnes, the team’s co-defensive coordinator and safeties coach, and Coleman Hutzler, co-defensive coordinator and inside linebacker coach.

Barnes will join the Bulldogs’ staff after leading Memphis to one of its best defensive seasons. Coach Barnes’ defense finished the season ranked fifth in the nation in fewest penalties (53), 10th in interceptions (16), and 25th in turnovers gained (25).

Hutzler is coming from Tuscaloosa after two seasons with Alabama as the team's outside linebackers coach and special teams coordinator. He helped Alabama have one of the best special teams units in the country with his punt unit ranking sixth nationally in yards per punt (46.7) while ranking 15th in field goal percentage (87.0).

🔼 Monday Preview. State women’s basketball will take on Kennesaw State tonight for the first-ever meeting between the two programs. History points in the right direction for the Dawgs as Mississippi State is 15-0 all-time against current Atlantic Sun Conference members.

Sam Purcell’s squad enters the contest 18-3 at home and 12-1 at home against non-conference regular season opponents with Jerkaila Jordan leading the scoring for the team with 17.4 points per game.
