🎙️ DEAR OL’ STATE

Dear Ol’ State: Dominant Win Over No. 18 Pitt Shows How Special State Can Be. Mississippi State men's hoops notched its largest-ever margin of victory over a Top 25 opponent on Wednesday night with a dominant win over No. 18 Pittsburgh. On the latest episode of Dear Ol' State, Joel Coleman and Logan Lowery discuss how the game showed exactly how special this year's State team can be. Plus, hear straight from players RJ Melendez, Michael Nwoko, Cameron Matthews and KeShawn Murphy.

📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Fab Five. Mississippi State soccer’s historic campaign saw four players—Maddy Anderson, Rylie Combs, Macey Hodge, and Ally Perry—named to the 2024 United Soccer Coaches All-Southeast Region First Team, with Alexis Gutierrez earning a spot on the Third Team. This marks the most All-Region honorees in a single season in program history, highlighting the depth and quality of talent across the roster.

🔼 Servant Hearted. The SEC announced the Community Service Team for football, with punter/kicker Nick Barr-Mira earning the honor for Mississippi State. Since the start of the 2023 season, Barr-Mira has participated in numerous community service events including the D.A.W.G. program, Read Across America, Ryan's Giving Tree, the Emily Chancellor Polar Bear Plunge, a school service trip to Miami and Habitat for Humanity.

🔼 And Then Some. Before this year's campaign tipped off, redshirt junior forward KeShawn Murphy aspired to help take the Bulldog men's basketball program to new heights alongside his teammates in the Maroon and White. Murphy is doing just that and then some over the early portion of the schedule. He once again shined on Wednesday night when he dropped a career-high 20 points in State's largest victory over a ranked opponent in school history against No. 18 Pittsburgh.

🗣️ "He's been so consistent with his daily approach mentally, physically and you can ask anyone on our team about him. He's hard to get off the court. He wants the reps, and he wants to get better. He's just an awesome kid and fun to be around." - Chris Jans, head coach

🔼 Get ‘Em While They’re Hot. Tickets for the Astros Foundation College Classic, which will be held at the Astros home ballpark in Houston from Feb. 28 to March 2, 2025, are now available for purchase. The 2025 season marks the second time in program history that the Diamond Dawgs will play in this event. Mississippi State went 3-0 in 2018 with wins over Louisiana, Houston, and Sam Houston State.
