🔼 Getting Things Started. Basketball is back, and Mississippi men’s hoops will look to get underway for the 2023-24 season in Chicago, IL—at the Barstool Sports Invitational against Arizona State. State has taken nine of its last 10 season openers, and will look to do the same against the Sun Devils who made a First Four appearance last season.

State is returning an NCAA-best 80.9% of its points from a season ago and added solid transfer talent, including Jimmy Bell Jr. and Andrew Taylor.

🔼 Great Grades. Mississippi State football’s first-round talent Emmanuel Forbes earned his highest PFF grade of the season, and highest grade among all rookies for the week, following a fantastic Week 9 performance—he got a 91.3 grade after helping lock down New England Patriots receivers in the Washington Commanders’ win last weekend.

🔼 Playoff Soccer. After learning of its fate during the NCAA Selection Show, the No. 6 seed Bulldogs will now get to work in preparing to host Providence for a second-consecutive NCAA Tournament match.

🗣️ "It's always nice to see your name come up there and be announced. We obviously have a really good opponent that we're going to play, but we get to play another game [on] our home field in front of our fans [and] you can't ask for any more than that." - James Armstrong

🔼 Another Bout. The Volleydawgs will continue their march through the regular season tonight as the team takes on South Carolina in front of the Maroon and White faithful. The Bulldogs return to The Griss for the first time since winning the Magnolia State Showdown on Oct. 22 in an exciting 3-2 victory. Sophie Agee and Karli Schmidt lead the team with 3.36 and 3.26 points, respectively, per set as the team looks to win its ninth home game this season.
