One: Dawg Food (S.1 E.8). It's a new year and "One" is back in FULL swing for SEC play. After starting with back-to-back losses to Vanderbilt and South Carolina, Sam Purcell and the Bulldogs focused on re-centering the team on each other...and the results are too good not to watch.

🔼 Flowers Given. Tabbed as one of the best players in the country by her coaches and teammates, Jessika Carter was named the SEC Co-Player of the Week. It’s the second time this season and the fourth time in her collegiate career that Carter has received the award.

The fifth-year forward averaged 22.5 points, 12 rebounds, two assists, and two blocks while shooting 64.5 percent from the field in the Bulldogs’ first two conference wins last week. Now, Carter is heating up in the past couple of games after having totaled 45 points and 24 rebounds over the last two conference contests compared to 14 points and 18 rebounds in the first two.

🔼 New Home. The Volleydawgs are looking ahead to next season, and so too is a new addition, Payton Woods. Woods is headed to Starkville after spending one season at Sam Houston State where she totaled 157 kills (3.20 per set) and collected 96 kills (3.50 per set) in eight matches. For her effort on the court, Woods was selected to the Conference USA All-Freshman Team.

Before entering her college career, Woods was named the 2022 GHCVA Offensive Player of the Year and Vype Houston Player of the Year finalist. She also helped lead her team to be named the 2022 GHCVA Team of the Year and to become State Semi-Finalists.

🔼 Path to Success. Bulldog men’s basketball’s success may be a surprise to some across the college basketball landscape but to head coach Chris Jans’ mother and father, it’s something they have seen coming all along.

🗣️ "No matter what he's done, he's always wanted to win. It's just always been that way." Mary and Ron Jans.

Starting his post-graduate life as an assistant manager selling paint for Sherwin-Williams, Chris knew that it wasn’t in the cards for him to do this in the long run. Shortly after, Jans ended up as an assistant coach at Elmhurst where Michael Jordan was hosting his basketball camp. The rest they say, is history.
