📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Conference Best. For the second time this season, Josh Hubbard was announced as the SEC Freshman of the Week. Hubbard becomes the eighth Bulldog all-time to earn multiple SEC freshman weekly honors.

Hubbard averaged 19.5 points per game, fueled by seven three-pointers for the week. He scored an SEC-best 25 points in a dominant performance against No. 5 Tennessee, his second-highest scoring output on the season. To put into context just how good Hubbard has been; he is the only Power 6 freshmen player (ACC, BIG EAST, Big Ten, Big 12, Pac-12, SEC) to average at least 15.0 points per game with a minimum of 15 games off the bench going back to the 2005-06 season.

🔼 Top Dawg. Bulldog women’s basketball’s Jessika Carter has been playing some of her best ball of the season as of late, and head coach Sam Purcell says that when playing like this, there’s no one better in the country.

🗣️ "[She's the] best post player in the country. I said that with my chest. Every time we're in a tough situation she speaks, she repeats. When adversity hits, her character comes out through the roof." - Sam Purcell

She showed her determination and skill in the Bulldogs’ win over Ole Miss where she finished with a game-high 23 points, including six in a dominant fourth-quarter. Her leadership on the team will not only help her teammates, but the entire program, as they enter into the teeth of SEC play.

🔼 Fresh Start. It looks like the Diamond Dawgs got a good one. Freshman shortstop Dylan Cupp came in at No. 8 on D1Baseball’s top 150 freshmen entering the 2024 season. Cupp’s defensive ability helped him standout in the poll as he, and the rest of the Bulldogs, look to kick off the season in exactly one month.
