🔼 Forever Remembered. Two of Mississippi State’s football coaches will be honored next year as a part of the 2024 Hall of Fame Class, the Texas Sports Hall of Fame.

Coach Sherrill earned his winning reputation in his 13 years as the head coach for the Bulldog football program. In his time at State, he accumulated 75 wins, the most in program history, and led to his team to the infamous ‘98 SEC Western Division title.

Coach Leach, a.k.a. The Pirate, made an impact on the football field at each stop on his way to Mississippi State. In his 21-year coaching career, he racked up 158 wins and was a two-time National Coach of the Year. Leach is also credited with creating the “Air Raid” offense in his time in Lubbock, TX, a system that has helped State quarterback Will Rogers to 30 different school records.

🔼 National Stage. After a few hard-fought matches at the ITA Fall National Championships, both the men’s and women’s participants are moving on in the consolation round of the tournament.

Petar Jovanovic took both first sets in his singles and doubles matches, with partner Benito Sanchez Martinez, but ultimately fell in three sets in both contests. As for the women’s team, Alexandra Mikhailuk and Athina Pitta competed in the first round of doubles play, but fell in the first round as well.

🔼 Making History. The No. 16 Mississippi State men's golf team built off of its opening day with a historic second round at the Kapolei Invitational. State shot a combined 18-under 270, marking the program’s second-lowest round in history.

It was the first time that each Bulldog finished the round multiple strokes under-par, with Hunter Logan following up his 5-under par round one with a 6-under par second round.

🔼 How The West Was Won. There’s been a lot of talk about the 1998 Bulldog football team that took the SEC’s Western Division title, and with the homecoming game against Kentucky fast approaching, it’s time to take a deep dive into the Bulldogs’ memorable season. Read this piece from Senior Writer Joel Coleman on how exactly the West was won by those Mississippi State Bulldogs.
