Dear Ol’ State: Success On the Court and On the Pitch. In the last several days, Bulldog soccer and basketball have seen a lot of winning across the board. Men's hoops is 2-0. Women's hoops is 3-0. Soccer is off to the second round of the NCAA Tournament. On the latest episode, Joel and Logan discuss it all and bring you reaction from the players and coaches.

🔼 Hungry Dawgs. Another night at The Hump equals another win for Bulldog men’s basketball—this time against North Alabama. Jimmy Bell Jr. led all scorers with 14 points on the night and tacked on 14 rebounds as well for his third career double-double. 

The win was a true team effort as 11 Bulldogs got in on the scoring action, showing off their depth, with six State players putting up at least eight points. Now Bulldog basketball shift focus to the Basketball Hall of Fame Classic where they will tip things off in a game against Washington State on Saturday morning at 11:00am.

🔼 Best In The ‘Sip. Mississippi State’s Bookie Watson has impressed at linebacker this season, and was awarded with a nomination for the 2023 C Spire Conerly Trophy. He joins nine others for the award that is presented to the Magnolia State’s top college football player.

🔼 Wooden Watch List. Two of Bulldog basketball’s brightest starts were named as one of 50 finalists for the 2023-24 Wooden Award Watch List.

🏀 It’s no surprise that Tolu Smith was one of the 50 selected to this season’s Wooden Award Watch List. He is coming off a season where he averaged 15.7 points per game in 34 total games played.

🏀 The other Bulldog named to the Wooden Award Watch List was women’s basketball’s Jessika Carter. Through the first three games of the season, Carter is averaging 12 points, 6.7 rebounds and 2.7 blocks per contest.

🔼 Film Roll. Ahead of the Soccer Dawgs’ second round matchup against Brown in the NCAA Tournament, revisit the thrilling game that got the team there with this cinematic recap of the victory. 

🔼 From State To Sundays. Former Bulldog quarterback Dak Prescott showed out in Week 10 of the NFL season with one of the best performances of his career. Graded as the top QB of the week, Prescott recorded 404 yards through the air and five total touchdowns—his third such week in a row with at least 300 passing yards.  

🔼 Taking On the Tigers. With only four matches remaining in the regular season for Bulldog volleyball, the team will take on Auburn tonight at The Griss. Ranking second in the SEC with 4.34 digs per set is Lauren Myrick while Rebecca Walk comes in with the fourth-best hitting percentage at a .361 clip.

🤔 BULLDOG TRIVIA

The Biggest Show. State baseball has a knack for producing top players as was seen with two Diamond Dawgs winning the World Series with the Texas Rangers. However, it was a different former Bulldog who was nominated for the 2023 All-MLB team.
