🔼 Raising The Bar. One game into the season, and it seems that Mississippi State women’s basketball’s Jerkaila Jordan has picked things up right where she left off. In the season-opener against Alcorn State, Jordan finished with 26 points, a career-best 13 rebounds and six steals.

🗣️ “I want to set the standard for the transfers and the freshmen. I just want to teach them stuff that I didn't know when I was a sophomore or things I didn't know when I was a freshman. Every day I just want to go out there and set the bar high for them. I want them to try and pass me." - Jerkaila Jordan

As one of the leaders of this Bulldog basketball team, Jordan and the rest of the squad look ahead to the rest of the schedule with big aspirations in mind. But first, State will look to Southeastern Louisiana tonight at The Hump.

🔼 The Family Keeps Growing. The letters keep rolling in for Mississippi State Athletics with many more programs adding new faces to their rosters for each of their 2024 recruiting classes.

🏐 The Volleydawgs signed setter Cayley Hanson out of Deer Park, TX, and right side hitter Noella Obi from Murfreesboro, TN. Hanson joins the Bulldogs after breaking her school’s assist record by earning more than 2,000 assists, while Obi looks to join the team after earning 2023 Player of the Year.

🏀 Coach Purcell went and added four new Bulldogs in Tahj Bloom—the highest-rated player of the Purcell era as a No. 41 overall prospect—Rocio Jimenez, Anaisha Carriere and Shakirah Edwards.

🔼 Fantastic Fall. After notching two top-three finishes so far this season, Bulldog standout Julia Lopez Ramirez was announced as a finalist for the 2023-2024 Final Fall Watch List for the ANNIKA Award. Along with holding the most wins for any Bulldog individually, she currently holds the lowest career stroke average in program history, shooting an average of 70.7.

🔼 Making It Permanent. Starting in 2025, SEC baseball teams will play a three-game series against two permanent opponents, and for the Bulldogs, those teams will be LSU and in-state rivals, Ole Miss. Along with the consistent matchups, the SEC will also eliminate divisional standings, making it a single-division format.

🤔 BULLDOG TRIVIA

Sweet Sixties. By now, Bulldog women’s golf has become accustomed to Julia Lopez Ramirez’ greatness, but the records she holds are impressive nonetheless.

Our question today—do you know how many rounds Lopez Ramirez has shot in the 60s in her career?
