🔼 Five Things. Bulldog men’s basketball will welcome No. 5 Tennessee to Humphrey Coliseum tonight for its SEC home opener. Here are five things you need to about tonight’s matchup know before the Dawgs and Vols tipoff.

  1. The Bulldogs are back at it as one of four squads in the nation among the NCAA's top 25 in three categories: three-point field goal percentage defense (27.0 – 11th nationally), scoring defense (63.1 – 19th nationally) and field goal percentage defense (38.8 – 20th nationally).

  2. The Maroon and White have drained 106 shots from beyond the arc which is sixth-most in program history over the team's first 14 games.

  3. Tennessee has amassed a league-leading 155 victories and is one of four programs nationally to earn an AP top-five ranking in each of the last three seasons. Last time out, the Volunteers began SEC play with a 90-64 rout of No. 22 Ole Miss.

  4. Tennessee's scoring attack features eight players scoring at least five points per contest.

  5. The last win in the series for the Bulldogs was an 86-73 decision during the 2019-20 season.

🔼 They’re Back. Bulldog men’s and women’s tennis is set to compete for the first time in 2024 this weekend. The State women will square up in matches against Middle Tennessee State and Jacksonville State on Saturday, while the men will take on Nothern Illinois and Chattanooga on Sunday.

Both teams will serve as hosts for the matches with each starting their contests at 10 a.m. on Saturday and Sunday.

🔼 Classroom Success. State soccer saw plenty of success out on the pitch this past season, and the success followed them to the classroom. The program saw the team finish with a 3.65 GPA for the Fall 2023 semester, the second-best GPA of any semester in program history.
