📈 STOCK UP
🔼 First Win Down. The top-seeded Bulldog soccer team delivered a dominant performance to open the NCAA Tournament, defeating Southern University 7-0. State once again shattered its attendance record with 3,461 Maroon and White faithful in the stands, marking the third time this season the Bulldogs have set a new standard. On the field, the Bulldogs' 38 shots were the most by any team in the First Round and were the only squad to hold their opponent without a single shot attempt.
🔼 All Out Effort. Bulldog men’s basketball is off to a perfect 4-0 start this season courtesy of a determined second-half surge that carried MSU past Utah, 78-73, in Southaven. Josh Hubbard scored 20 of his team-high 23 points in the second half to lead State's surge, while KeShawn Murphy did a little of everything for the Bulldogs with 18 points, 14 rebounds, a couple of blocks and an assist.
🔼 Stacking Up Wins. Four players scored in double figures to lead State women's basketball past Chattanooga, 69-44, inside The Hump. The win improved the Bulldogs to 4-0 on the season and 21-1 in non-conference home games under Sam Purcell, who is now one win shy of 50 for his career. In a balanced offensive attack, forward Eniya Russell finished with 19 points, seven rebounds and four assists, while guard Jerkaila Jordan added 12 points, eight rebounds, two assists and two steals.
🔼 The Finish Line. Bulldog cross country concluded the 2024 season at the South Region Championships with 10th-place finish out of 31 teams, earning 278 points, te highest finish by State since the mid-2010s. Ramat Jimoh and Gabrielle Boulay, two of the Bulldogs’ strongest contenders, finished 24th and 25th, respectively, crossing the line in 20:33.8 to earn All-Region honors.
