🔼 Taking Care of Business. In front of the home crowd on Sunday afternoon, Bulldog women’s basketball handled business against Alcorn State with a 73-45 victory. With the win, State improved to 2-0 on the season and 19-1 overall in non-conference home games under head coach Sam Purcell. Guard Jerkaila Jordan finished with 20 points, seven rebounds and four steals in 28 minutes. Redshirt junior guard Destiney McPhaul posted her second-straight double-digit scoring performance to open the season with 15 points.

🔼 Took It. At the ITA Conference Masters Championships this weekend, Bulldog men’s tennis top pairing of Benito Sanchez-Martinez and Petar Jovanovic were crowned doubles champions. Jovanovic and Sanchez Martinez downed the 46th-ranked duo in the championship finale at the Rome Tennis Center. The Bulldogs' junior duo posted a perfect 4-0 record together during the event and did not drop a single set during the weekend.

🔼 Took More Titles. Bulldog women's tennis concluded a dominant showing at the Rice Fall Invitational on Sunday. State tallied an impressive 14-3 record in both singles and doubles play on the weekend with Emma Cohen and Alessia Tagliente winning their respective singles flights with perfect 3-0 records. Cohen and Tagliente also teamed together to post a flawless 3-0 record in doubles for the cherry on top.

🔼 Keep On Rolling. For the second straight season, the Bulldogs are 2-0 to start the year after rolling to a dominant victory, cruising past Georgia State 101-66 on Friday night at Humphrey Coliseum. Five different Dawgs made at least one trey and eight MSU players scored eight points or more. Josh Hubbard led the scoring with 15 points while Riley Kugel wasn’t too far behind with 14 of his own.

🔼 Showed Some Fight. For the third time this season, the Bulldogs faced a top-10 opponent on the road, this time at No. 7 Tennessee. Once again, the Bulldogs held their own against elite competition but eventually fell to the Volunteers 33-14. State racked up 179 rushing yards as a team, including 125 yards and a touchdown on the ground from running back Davon Booth, but it wasn't quite enough for the Bulldogs to take down the Vols.
