🔼 Swamp Stomp. After a tough battle against the Gators, the Soccer Dawgs came away with a win in Gainesville for the first time in program history. In the 26th minute of the match, Aitana Martinez-Montoya scored her fourth goal of the season in a sliding effort and beautiful feed from Ilana Izquierdo. After a stout defensive battle, the whistle blew to end the match, and goalkeeper Maddy Anderson came up with her 20th clean sheet of her career.

The win gave the Bulldogs their second SEC win of the season, and they will prepare to capture a third in the Magnolia Cup in Starkville.

🔼 Even More Wins. State men’s tennis continues to put together wins at the ITA All-American tournament. Petar Jovanovic came up with another win in singles play after a straight set victory in the main draw consolation while he and doubles partner Benito Sanchez Martinez continued their winning ways with a straight set win to advance to the Round of 16.

🔼 Game Day. For the first time in program history, the Bulldogs will face off against Western Michigan on the gridiron. State fans will be up and at ‘em with a kickoff time at 11:00am CT. For those not in attendance at Davis Wade Stadium, the game will air on SEC Network.

🔼 Double Trouble. This weekend, the Volleydawgs will host a pair of SEC foes. The team will open up the two-game home stretch against Georgia later tonight followed by a rematch against Texas A&M on Sunday afternoon.

Outside hitters Karli Schmidt and Sophie Agee will look to continue to hold down the attack as the two have combined for 17 matches with double-digit kills while Lauren Myrick will keep steady fueling the back row as the team’s dig specialist.

🔼 Pro Debut. Former Bulldog men’s golfer Ford Clegg is making his PGA Tour debut this week at the Sanderson Farms Championship after finishing his senior year at No. 44 on the PGA Tour University leaderboard. Through the first round of play, Clegg carded four birdies en route to an even-par finish.

Also in attendance is former Bulldog Chad Ramey. Ramey turned pro in 2014 and now has the opportunity to show the young guy how it’s done on Tour.
