Good morning! The Soccer Dawgs will be hard at work in preparation for two SEC matches this week. First, the Bulldogs will travel to Gainesville, FL, to face off against the Gators on Thursday then will head home for Sunday’s match against in-state rival Ole Miss.

🔼 Blessings on Blessings. The first round at the Blessings Collegiate Invitational is in the books, and Bulldog men’s and women’s golf teams each started out strong with a pair of solid scores.
⛳️ The men’s team rounded out the first day in second place after shooting even-par for the day. Josep Serra continued his hot play as the team’s low man of the round with a 1-under par score. Close behind were Harrison Davis and Pedro Cruz Silva who shot even-par as all three Bulldogs sit within the top 10 for the tournament.
⛳️ The women’s team followed suit from their counterparts, ending the day in second place after shooting 1-over par in the first round. Julia Lopez Ramirez finished the day as the low woman of the team at 1-under par with Chiara Horder joining her in the top-10 after carding an even-par round.
🔼 Above and Beyond. The student comes before the athlete, and two of State’s student-athletes were awarded the September Student-Athlete of the Month. Football’s Javae Gilmore and women’s golf’s Jarutrawee Khotchagrai both earned the honors for their hard work in starting off the semester strong both in the classroom and in their athletics programs.
🔼 Stacking Up. Bulldog men’s tennis is out at the ITA All-American Championships, and State’s players continued their strong play and picked up multiple wins. No. 68 ranked Petar Jovanovic came away with a win in the singles qualifying first round, and in the same round, Benito Sanchez Martinez rallied back for a three-set win. The duo also rattled off a pair of victories as doubles to reach the Round of 16.
🔼 It’s Almost Time. Bulldog men’s basketball is ready to show the college basketball world where the team gets its name from. Season tickets for the 2023-24 season are on sale now, and if you are on the fence about buying, watch this video, narrated by head coach Chris Jans, for all the convincing you will need.
