While most of Bulldog women’s golf was out competing at The Ally this week, Julia Lopez Ramirez and Chiara Horder were preparing to represent their countries at the World Team Championship in Abu Dhabi. The Bulldog duo will swap out the Maroon and White for their country’s colors for the four-day tournament across the pond.

🔼 Legend of the Game. Mississippi State football legend Jimmy Webb is set to join seven other inductees into the 2024 Mississippi Sports Hall of Fame. During his time with the Bulldogs from 1971 through 1974, Webb was a two-year starter, and in 31 games, racked up 118 catches for 2,022 yards as a receiver. During the ‘74 season, Webb switched over the the defensive side on the line where he recorded 90 tackles and six sacks.

After accumulating numerous awards in college ball, Webb went on to be drafted 10th overall, becoming the fourth first round pick in Mississippi State history. He played for both the San Francisco 49ers and San Diego Chargers in his professional career and never missed a game, playing in 106 consecutive games.

🔼 Before We Go. Before the Soccer Dawgs get ready for the last match of the regular season, the team received multiple honors. Following the incredible win in Tuscaloosa, AL, the Bulldogs received a No. 21 ranking by the United Soccer Coaches Poll, matching the highest a MSU soccer team has been ranked in program history.

Off the field, midfielder Ilana Izquierdo was named to the SEC Community Service team for dedicating herself to the Starkville community, helping out at The Boys & Girls Club, MSU Soccer Clinic, and Bully’s Closet & Pantry, among other organizations.

🔼 Fall’s Finish. Bulldog women’s golf concluded their fall season with a stellar second place finish at The Ally. After all was said and done, State finished with four golfers in the top-20 with Surapa Janthamunee leading the way in second place. Avery Weed bounced back from round two with a final round 1-under par score to finish in a tie for 10th.

🔼 All About Connection. State softball pitching coach Taryne Mowatt-McKinney believes that building relationships with her team is essential to success, and since arriving in Starkville this summer, she has been doing just that.
