📈 STOCK UP

🔼 Defensive Dawg. Following one of Bulldog football’s best defensive efforts of the season, linebacker Nathaniel Watson was named Co-SEC Defensive Player of the Week. Against Arkansas on the road, Watson recorded a season-high 14 tackles and two sacks. With his performance, Watson also secured his 300th career tackle as a Bulldog.

This season, Watson sits near the top in multiple SEC defensive statistical categories. He is in second in the SEC in total tackles (71), sacks (7.5) and sixth in tackles for loss (8.5). Watson, and the State defense, will look to carry some of that momentum into their matchup against Auburn on Saturday.

🔼 Hot Start. After a stellar performance in round one at The Ally, Bulldog women’s golf sits in second place. Surapa Janthamunee striped the ball off the first tee box and never looked back, finishing with a career-low 5-under par round. She currently sits in a tie for first place. Janthamunee and the rest of the Bulldogs will get back to it this morning for day two of action.

🔼 Brick Wall. One of the best State goalkeepers in program history added another award to her long list of accolades. Maddy Anderson was named the SEC Co-Defensive Player of the Week following back-to-back clean sheets, and five straight matches with zero goals allowed.

Anderson has been a stalwart in goal for the Bulldogs in her career, and has allowed only 10 goals across all contests this season. Heading into the final match of the regular season, Anderson has racked up nine clean sheets on the year, 49 saves and has allowed just 0.60 goals per match.

🔼 New Numbers. Basketball season is just around the corner, so it’s time Bulldog Nation gets familiar with the team and their numbers heading into the season-opening tipoff. Check out State women’s basketball’s jersey numbers as the team prepares for the first game at Humphrey Coliseum on Nov. 6th against Alcorn State.
